ROEBOURNE

SATURDAY 21.09.2013: Last night we organised a stay 'in town' at the Harding River Caravan Park as we had decided to drive back to Cossack and watch the ‘Staircase to the Moon’. Did not fancy driving the 13 kms on the dirt road into Cleaverville at night! The ‘Staircase to the Moon’ is a natural phenomenon created by a full moon rising over mud flats on a low tide. It creates an illusion of a staircase leading to the moon. The phenomenon occurs in several areas on the West Coast, including Hearson Cove and Cossack.

INSECT REPELLENT!
We set up camp waiting for the moment and whilst it was a stunning moon we have to say that we only managed a couple of stairs, not a full staircase!
