YARRAM - POPULATION: 2,106

McLOUGHLINS BEACH
MONDAY 5.12.2011: Lunch stop at McLoughlins Beach. One of the most popular beaches is Ninety Mile Beach, which runs from Lakes Entrance south to McLoughlins Beach. It incorporates some of Victoria’s best known surf fishing spots, including East Beach at Lakes Entrance, Ocean Grange, Loch Sport, Golden Beach, Seaspray, McGaurans, Woodside, Reeves and McLoughlins beaches. Evening accommodation was at the Yarra River Rest Area. We did it - our first stay at a Freedom Camp A-L-O-N-E! Have to concede that the town was only a kilometre away, we had full mobile service and the park backed onto the main road into town. One fellow traveller even made a house call to advise of a much quieter Freedom Camp up the road - we stayed where we were! Yarram (formerly Yarram Yarram), is an isolated town in Victoria, in the Shire of Wellington, located in the southeast of Gippsland. Such friendly people at Yarram, warm smiles and sales staff that actually enjoyed their work.
