WARIALDA - POPULATION: 1,120

FRIDAY 3.10.2014: We rose ready to hit the road for Warialda. Nav (Carole), was somewhat skeptical of what the location would offer, but we pressed on! Warialda is situated on the banks of the Warialda Creek - the town's name means "Place of Wild Honey." Passed a "purple house" opposite the Sales Depot and just had to stop for photos. Privately owned, the wife lost her husband and this was her way of finding solace. There were so many sculptures all completed from recycled materials.
Whilst in Longreach we expended a g-r-e-a-t deal of money on the purchase of new hats and of course they are sitting on the shelf at LTP. Carole was sent in pursuit of the cheapest hat available. The tourist returned with two hats purchased at the Chemist - $20.00 per hat! Arrived at Cranky Rock - all positives, except for the long weekend and children!
