SAT 4 - SUN 5.10.2014: The Cranky Rock Recreation Reserve is superb, there are a plethora of animals (even emus), plenty of space, facilities, an excellent caretaker and oh the concert - Gwydir Shire Council are holding a "Quirky Creative and Wellness Festival" which begins here at Cranky Rock. Bring your seats and refreshments down at 4.00pm and the concert which is part of the festival, will finish at 8.00pm. The entertainers - Children's entertainer, Little Poppy, Roger Knox and Aussie Legend Brian Cadd all for $10.00, plus we were able to buy tea and merchandise from the stalls - bonus!

As sad as it sounds, these days it is a long time between dances for the Leylands, BUT Brian Cadd managed to have us up and dancing - excellent performance. Australian performers are such great live entertainers.

A "cranky" Chinese man murdered a Warialda woman - he was chased by the Police and evaded capture by leaping to his death from the high rock. The tale claims that Cranky Rock received its name from the Chinese. It is still arguable as to "which" rock was the "one", so of course all rocks were photographed!
"Rosie" Roo sleeps in her material pouch which hangs on the office door during the day then makes her way "out bush" of an evening. Obviously her decadent lifestyle tempts her back into civilization!
