KELSO - POPULATION: 170

WEDNESDAY 29.2.2012: Left Exeter and headed for Green Beach. Viewed the area and then returned to Kelso. Kelso is in northern Tasmania located west of George Town. It was settled in the early 19th century and is located on Kelso Bay, a small bay on the Tamar River. Kelso is also located near the Narawntapu National Park. Went fishing at the Kelso pontoon - our first outing since Les' tuition and as expected, we trialled e-v-e-r-y technique! Caught a pike - the locals were divided on their opinion, some thought an enjoyable fish to eat, others saw it as bait - we opted for bait. Irrespective, due to the size of the fish (74 cms), it felt good on the line! Carole also caught a decent sized flathead. We met 4 of the 170 locals and asked if we could park on their nature strip for the evening - we did and the morning vista was beautiful.
WEATHER BECAME
A LITTLE COOL!

T-H-E PIKE!
