NUNDLE

THURSDAY 15.1.2015: Visited the Information Centre and then made our way to the Peel Inn for refreshments - one cannot strain oneself too much! Next activity was to attend the Nundle Trivia Night being held at the Memorial Hall. The funds raised are for the 2015 Nundle Go For Gold Festival which runs over a three day period at Easter and brings in some 16,000 people to the area. You have to love a small town and their enthusiasm - it was a great night, although our table which was aptly named "Dumb & Dumber" came last. Must point out that most tables had 10 people and we only had 5 - proving that 2 heads are better than one!

Activities included paper plane making and the table that threw the furthest received additional points, plus slide the poker chip along the ground to the bottle of Rum - closest took the bottle (didn't even win that!).

WED 14.1.2015: We decided to make an early start and left Broke at 11.00am! Stopped at Burning Mountain Antiques at Wingen which always just happens to be on our way, and of course found something to purchase. Next stop - Nundle.

DOWNTOWN LTP!

TUESDAY 13.1.2015: On the road to the 2015 Tamworth Country Music Festival - enjoyed the event so much two years ago that we decided to return. Said goodbye to LTP and ventured forth for a day of food, fashion and flavour which equates to stops at Aldi, Millers Warehouse and finally the Olive Shop at Broke. Pulled up at the usual haunt - Broke Free Camp and finished the day with a B-I-G thunderstorm.

CHRISTMAS BREAK!

Spent time working in the LTP garden and catching up with everyone during the Christmas and New Year period. Enjoyed the Christmas Carols featuring Bella, Gina Jeffreys and the rain at the Tilligerry RSL, plus fireworks. We then returned to the club to see the New Year in with more fireworks - for a small club they certainly put on a great display. Did have an opportunity due to John Reedy's new boat to do a spot of fishing, or should we say boating given the amount of fish that were NOT caught!

TUESDAY 4 - FRIDAY 7.11.2014: We are gradually making our way back to downtown Lemon Tree Passage. One more visit to make - Sue Pearsall is a friend and softball player from a time long ago when we were all young! Spent a couple of days catching up and resting. Big thank you to both Sue and Cheryl for their hospitality and great company.

Have to admit that our main travel tip from this outing is simple - after cleaning the motorhome and before departing check that all items are returned. Knives, hats and sunscreen just to name a few things, were left at home! Although not wealthy from the specking, fossicking and noodling we have as always loved our travels. The next scheduled trip is in January 2015 when we will be revisiting the Tamworth Music Festival - yeeha! Thank you to our blog followers, we hope you have again enjoyed the Leyland Sisters' misadventures. Have a great Christmas and a healthy and safe 2015.

RETURN TO URALLA

SATURDAY 1 - MONDAY 3.11.2014: Enjoyed our stay so much that we returned to Uralla Wooldridge Recreation & Fossicking Reserve. Madison and Shayden even went paddling in the water - more like Madison had a 'Pixie-Anne' moment and kept charging into the water. Neither surfaced the next day, little bit of a strain on the aging bodies! Carole again enjoyed her fossicking whilst Sybil (Nigel), and her new found friend Lizzy (lizard), communed with nature - very enjoyable and relaxing time. Question - how do you test a fossicker's reflexes, have a leech attach itself to the pan they are using! Certainly tested Carole's ability to react.

Met the equivalent of Eno the emu, but in the form of Mother Maggy. She has cleverly placed her nest high in the tree in the centre of the camping area. Each day she does the circuit of caravans requesting food for her screaming children.



TAMWORTH - POPULATION: 47,595

THURSDAY 30 - FRIDAY 31.10.2014: January 2015 will again see us visiting Tamworth and the Country Music Festival. Here is an idea, call into Tamworth before the crowds and pick up travel tickets. First issue, the Information Centre has been moved and none of the signs have been taken down. Found the Centre, but the travel bands would not be issued till next January, okay - is there any information we could collect, no! Exited Tamworth and headed to Bendemeer Rest Area ($5.00 Honesty Box).
