SUN 3 - MON 4.11.2013: Before leaving Denham we had to have one last outing at the designated Dog Training Area (did not train much - just ran), then visited the local markets. Small, but yes we did manage to support the locals!
The Shark Bay World Heritage area has had an electric fence erected to keep the feral animals out. More than 32,000 feral goats, plus sheep, rabbits, foxes and cats have been removed with ongoing baiting completed on an annual basis. Bilbies and Malleefowl are now well established on the peninsula, with six species of previously extinct native fauna reintroduced.
Stayed at Nerren Nerren Rest Area 82 km north of Kalbarri, then at Galena Bridge (Murchison River) Rest Area some 13 km north of Kalbarri.
