THURSDAY 31.10.2013 CONTINUED: On the road back to Denham..............we had only driven some 200 metres away from Monkey Mia when up ahead we saw a campervan with hazard lights flashing. We slowed and caught sight of native Edward Emu strutting down the middle of the road.
He stopped and solicited every vehicle that passed - the WA Tourist Commission's outback promotion is certainly effective! As you drove off a line of cars behind were being hailed down by Edward! Onward to downtown Denham and as we entered the back streets there was Edward's relative. Turned another corner and a mother with four chicks - starting to feel a little like David Attenborough!
Down to the park to exercise the dogs which translated means, let them run round in circles till their long leads are so entwined that the humans quit on the activity! Sybil was left to untangle the leads while Carole went and spoke to a father and his two sons cleaning their haul after a two day fishing trip. The Leyland fisherwoman talked fishing (as you do), and at the end of the conversation was kindly offered a filleted fish.
