SATURDAY 31.08.2013: We're back! Since purchasing the new computer battery we have not been able to kick start it and then finally the computer just turned up its' feet and died! Always appreciate having to expend larger amounts that have not been included in the budget! Also, a much pricier acquisition when there are not many alternatives. Stayed the evening at the Boab Rest Area midway between Fitzroy Crossing and Derby. Some of the large boab trees are naturally hollowed in the middle and are appreciably cooler inside.
Always ones to collect souvenirs of the trip - today was no different! Fitzroy Crossing had on offer the tiniest, tiniest, tiniest ants that inflict the largest bite, so we took the lot. Sprayed, laid baits and essentially spent time squashing any black dot that moved!
