BANKA BANKA STATION

SAT 27.07.2013: Onward to the oasis in the outback - what a find, $12.00 per person per night at Banka Banka Station. It is 74 kms north of Three Ways and 60 kms south of Renner Springs. Banka Banka was established as a cattle station and an army camp for soldiers during the 1940's. The Banka Banka Station was the first cattle homestead used in the region.
ONE COULD SAY A
LITTLE RUSTIC!
Dennis Cuthel also happened to stay the night at Banka Banka - yes we can hear you asking! Dennis Cuthel was a member of Billy Thorpe's band and is now obviously travelling. Camp fire, entertainment and wine - another enjoyable evening. Just a small tip for our fellow travellers - should you make your way up the Stuart Highway and are in need of dog toys do keep a look out at the places we have frequented. Our beloved Shayden spits the toys at your feet when you are standing outside and invariably they roll under the motorhome. We vow to pick them up in the morning when we move, but of course we drive off without a second thought for the toy. There are quite a variety so feel free to select the one that most meets your dog's needs!

Banka Banka Station Mud Homestead - thought to have been constructed round the 1920's by the three Ambrose Brothers using bush timber and mud bricks. It was restored in 2002 by Stanbroke Pastoral Company.
